In all types of trains and coaches, this upgraded passengers are being introduced and many new facilities are being provided for overall cleanliness and cleanliness. 1. Project Evolution: Under this ambitious project, Indian Railways is initially upgrading rake of 140 mail/express trains. For this purpose, 60 lakh rupees per rack has been approved and the project is expected to be completed by March 2019. The aim of the project is to upgrade the ICF-Design Coach and bring the equivalent of LHB coach in the comfort of passengers. Parameters like the increase for seats, berths, toilets, floors, exterior etc. have been identified. On the cleaning of the board, there is another big part of the project. 500 rakes will be upgraded in the second phase!
2. Operation Rider: The objective of this initiative is to upgrade 15 Century and 14 Rajdhani Express trains to 'Gold Standard' at a cost of Rs. 50 lakhs per rake. The upgrade is based on 10 parameters such as voluntary inletier, plush toilet, security and safety, on entertainment and cleaning. Many trains have already been given a new look and the project is expected to be completed by August-end.
3. Catering to the common man: In the last sixty years, Indian Railways has introduced several Antyodudi express trains for unreserved travellers. This new category of trains has been made keeping in mind the rest of the common man. Aniruddha Express is a completely unreserved train service which has very good and comfortable seats, coat-hooks, cushioned racks, additional mobile charging points and aqua guard guards. Apart from these trains, Indian Railways have also constructed Deenadialu Coach for Unreserved Travelers with the same comfort as the uncontrolled express. On the basis of demand, these coaches are connected to regular trains.
4. Premium Train Journey: From Tejas Express Train to Cognition Coach, the more popular Hummer Express - Indian Railways has given a new meaning for the premium travel on its network. While Tejas Express and Cognition Koch are an upgraded and more sophisticated version of Shatabdi Express trains, there are many aircraft-like features (personalized entertainment screens, helpful call buttons, reading lights, footrest), Hummer Express AC-3 Version Tier's Train Journey All-AC 3-level train service offers new comfort such as soup/coffee vending machine, smoke detectors, fire suppression system, comfortable seat etc. Recently, Indian Railways has launched a premium UDA Express double-decker train for business-class passengers. 5. Train 18 - The future of train travel in India: Set to roll out in early September, train 18 will eventually replace the Shatabdi Express trains on Indian Railway Network - but with the turn! Train 18 will be the first self-propelled engine of Indian Railways for low-traffic inter-city travel. In the context of the concept of self-propulsion, Train 18 will be an AC-AC Chair Car, just like Metro trains.
There will be automatic interconnecting doors in the train, WiFi and Infotainment, GPS based passenger information screens, new generation bogeys for jerk-free ride, continuous windows for better viewing experience and automatic interconnecting doors for automatic sliding steps on the door!
The semi-high speed train will be able to grow at 160 kmph and it is being constructed in Integral Coach Factory in Chennai.
