The death rate in Kerala has gone up to 72 as the state is under one of the worst floods in history. Chief Minister Pinaray Vijayan once again called on Prime Minister Modi to look into the situation and to seek more assistance. They also demanded additional army personnel and helicopters. For the first time in history, the state has opened 35 of its 39 dams.
