Syrian air defences confront ‘hostile target’ near Damascus: State media
Israel is worried that Iran's growing presence in Syria poses a threat to its security, during the country's seven-year conflict, dozens of Iranian and Iranian-supported positions have been attacked in Syria.
The Syrian state media said on Saturday that Air Defense had faced "hostile targets" in the early hours of the morning to violate the country's air space in the west of the capital Damascus.
State communiqué agency SANA cited its correspondent, saying that there were reports of "air defense facing the hostile target of violating the sky over the area of Deir al-Asahar in Damascus rural areas".
The area is close to the Lebanese border.
Syrian air defense was active in the same way on the western coast of Damascus on Thursday night.
SANA suggested that Israel be guilty of infiltration.
"In the past few weeks, Israeli enemies have attacked military posts," he said.

A spokesman for the Israeli army said that he did not comment on foreign reports.
Last month, Damascus had withdrawn control over its entire border with the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights and Jordan along with the south-west border after the offensive in June.
