Trump admits son met Russian for information on an opponent
American President Donald Trump has acknowledged that in June 2001 his son met a Russian lawyer to "get information on an opponent", but argued that it was legal.

What did President Trump say?
On Sunday, American media including the Washington Post, CNN, and AP reported that Mr Trump was worried that Donald Trump Jr. may be in legal trouble due to a meeting with MS Vezelinvesta in New York on June 9, 2016. He cited many unknown sources.
Mr Trump tweeted: "False news reporting, a complete creation, that I was worried about the meeting of my wonderful son Donald, was in the Trump Tower.
"It was a meeting to get information on an opponent, completely legal and in politics all the time - and it has not gone anywhere.
"I did not know about it!"

Mr Trump's latest tweet appears to be contradicting the previous statement from Trump Camp about the meeting.
When it was first reported to the meeting by the New York Times, Donald Trump Jr. said in a statement that he and MS Veselnitskaya had discussed a suspended program to adopt Russian children for most Americans.

The American media then told that the US president was included in the initial statement issued in the meeting.
Initially, Mr Trump's team had refused, but later their lawyers confirmed that they had actually set their son's statement.
American commentators have argued that in order to gain information about Mr Trump's new entrance or meeting Clinton, the meeting shows that the earlier statement was misleading.
